Not really new here, I had an account like 5-6 years ago :P

Anyway, hi to all from Costa Rica; I wanted to know what people think I should do with my guitars as I want to give them a little twist without buying anything new (or minimum additional purchase).

This is the list of things I have:

Guitars:

Squier Affinity Stratocaster (black, MII)
Squier Affinity Telecaster (butterscotch blone, MIC)
Fender Standard Stratocaster (black, MIM)

Pickups:

Stat Texas Special (full set)
Tele '51 Nocaster (full set)
Start Seymour Duncan Hot Rail (bridge)
Tele Seymour Duncan Hot Rail (full set)
Strat standard (full set, MIM stock)

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

My current setup is:

MIM Start:

Bridge: Hot Rail
Middle: Texas Special
Neck: Texas Special

Squier Tele:

Bridge: Hot Rail
Neck: Hot Rail

Squier Strat:

Bridge: Texas Special
Middle: None
Neck: None

Probably important to mentioned that I play in a hard rock/grunge/post-grunge band, I play rythym and lead with another guitarist.

You may want to check my band, Art Of Collision, we're in Spotify and other social media/streaming thingies out there.

Rock n' roll and pura vida!

Gugus

Well hello G. Welcome to the Forum. Buster is down there ( Al Ursini best record producer ever). Your gear is fine just obtain a twin reverb or super reverb or Marshall half stack 0r dual rectifier and Marshall slant 4/12 cab You are recording and Buster could help with that just not sure he would come out of retirement lol. Have fun here!

Hi Gugus, welcome to the forum.

If you want to do something different with your guitars without spending any money you could try some alternative tunings, that should freshen things up a bit and maybe give you some new ideas.

Great ideas from SBLS and Steve.

You might change string gauge or experiment mixing strings from different brands or gauges. Lots of possibilities there which may be found on the Internet. You might find a suitable mix from another’s experience based on pro or amateur usage. Of course nut change and setup, especially with the neck goes without saying.

Nice you could join us, Gugus.

I’ll start you off with one website, bit others more relative for you may be found. This is just an example:

Thanks to all...

I was considering trying new strings actually...

I think I am going to try full Single Coils on the Tele and the Fender Strat.

And then I'll try new strings.
