Hello everyone. Brand new member, first time Fender owner. I'm now 49 years old, and about 10 years ago bought my first guitar with the hopes of teaching myself to play using the internet. While there is a ton of stuff out there, it's really too much, and I didn't have the discipline to stick with one thing. Plus I wasn't learning music I liked. So in December of 2016 I was fortunate enough to see a band with an amazing guitarist, who I found out gave lessons, which I started the following week. My only regret is not starting about 40 years ago. I absolutely love it. I've since upgraded in the guitar department and made some great friends following my teachers band around. And here I am. I actually have some questions, but I want to search through the forums first so I'm not "that guy". I'm looking forward to continuing my guitar education through these forums.

Hi DEmswiler, welcome to the forum. Taking lessons is definitely the way to go. Good luck.

Hey DEmswiler!

I'm now currently in the 'burbs of Boston' too. If you're ever looking to jam or
hit an open mic night, let me know. I know where a lot of them take place.
