Hi everyone

I'm Dava, 41yo.. 42 in a week n' a half, been playing since I was 17yo.
My first Fender was my 1994 Contemporary Special Stratocaster, which I bought from new*
Huge Squier fan. I 'collect'* Showmasters/Stagemasters.
I own a '94 Japan Squier Strat.. white. Squier 51', 2 Squier Bullet Mustangs..

Currently I am doing up a 1965 Fender Mustang.. always wanted to own a Pre-CBS Fender, but I guess transitional* '65 will have to do :)

I'm from just outside Glasgow .. and you *could* say that's my home City, but not my home town.

I came here today because of a strange question I had always assumed was obvious.. but now I'm not so sure.
Surely if you buy a Licenced Fender parts (neck and body) you can legally put a Fender decal on the headstock and sell it on (as long as you state thats its say.. a 'Mighty Mite Lic. Fender').. but I'll post a new thread asking about that elsewhere :)

*(customer return)
actually my Gran bought it for me and I paid her back. lots of sentimental value for many different reasons, one being she has now passed away. (year 2000).

*I own 4.. a V1 a V2 a V4 and a Fender Korean..well its really a set-neck HH Strat.. thats a pet peeve.. why no reverse headstock and locking nut + floyd?

* SO many arguments across so many forums.. they all end the same way: You can't call '65 'Pre-CBS'. CBS took over in January 1965 counter: but CBS didn't implement changes until '66. same staff ..same stuff. Answer: okay its 'transitional period'.
I saw one guy said he saw a guitar advertised as 'transitional era'.

Hello Dava, welcome to the Forum! Interesting first post, we love questions and photos. Huge SAHB fan here, Alex is a favorite amongst rock's great front men. Have fun here.

Hey SBLS :)

I.. actually hadn't heard of SAHB before but thanks for the tip. The Glasgow scene often has many talented bands, but goes through dry breakthrough spells. My current favorite Glasgow bands are Travis and Franz Ferdinand.. the singer (Alex Kapranos) used to work as a barman in the '13th note', I was in with a friend who was chatting to him before they were famous. Got a pint of Cider. :)

Hi sjlen!

:) .. I have a collection of around 40 iirc guitars..but thought it prudent to just share the Fenders and Squiers.
I sold my Squier Stagemaster 7 String with Floyd Rose.. and regretted it so much, I started collecting Stagemasters/Showmasters.. similar deal with the '51, I owned an original 2004 '51 but missed it so badly I bought the reissue.

Dava, those are both good bands. I saw SAHB at the first Knebworth festival in '74 way back in the jurassic days. a rock and roll Vaudeville act, very dynamic.

Glad to have you join us dava4444.

I was lucky to have met and worked alongside Nazareth some years back when they were on the charts. Great bunch of guys and musicians.

With that group of axes and the other guitars you have, I’m sure you can rock it out like so many of the Scots have in the past.

I’m thinking the groove is in the Scottish marmalade like I have on hand.
Keep rawkin’ and have fun here.
