Hi eveyone,

I am new to this forum. Just got a Professional Strat (Vintage Olive, Rosewood fretboard) delivered today and am loving it. I was prepared to do some adjustment to it but it is pretty much in good shape for me now. Amazing piece!!!

Back in 1995, I bought a Standard Strat and played it for 10 years, and then made a big mistake - I sold it as I did not play as much anymore.

My love with music, especially Blues, has been with me and all of a sudden, it caught me and made me go back to playing.

I went to a local Guitar Center and picked up a Strat only to realize that I could not play at all, and it was, to be honest, a huge shock.

It is a bit frustrating right now but I am loving putting my hands on a guitar again.

I will have a lot of questions for you experts and would like to thank you all for your help in advance.

Cheers!

PS: it is now time to go shopping again for an amp!

Glad to see you got back into playing again, jaepplays. I’ve experienced that vacation from playing too. I found it to be a mistake for me because, although I remember some of what I once knew, a lot is lost and it’s hard to regain missed opportunities. That’s okay, because new ones are available. So enjoy that new Strat and enjoy the Forum.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.

I just got a Blues Jr (III) Tweed last night and have been playing a lot. The combo sounds amazing to me and I am a happy camper.

I need a lot of practice. Practical practice :)
If you have any recommendations for online schools (oh Fender has one!), please let me know. I might go to a local Guitar Center for lessons if worth the money.

Cheers

Nice back story.
Welcome!

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
