Hey guys,
I'm from New Delhi, India. Been playing the guitar for 5 years.
Gear-
1. Ibanez GRG170dx
2. Fender Mustang I V2.0
3. Zoom G1XN

Looking to upgrade and have my sights set on a Fender Stratocaster.
Shortlisted a MIM HSS, MIM SSS, Deluxe Lonestar with Texas Special Pickups.
amplifier to be an Ibanez TSA15 Tube Screamer Tube Amp.

Supremely confused between the multiple varieties of Strats available in that price range of 90$-110$.
MIMs are cheaper than MIAs, providing the same specs, so looking at MIMs only. A LoneStar, coz John MAyer and SRV play that configuration( sorry for the noobness), and honestly I love that tone.

Genre- Metal, Blues, and everything in between.

Looking forward for a great interaction with you all!!

Welcome to the Forum ErenJaeger. Cool first post. I am partial to MIM Strats but you will hear many stories about Stratocasters on the Strat Forum. Have fun here.

Hi ErenJaeger, welcome to the forum. I have a Zoom G2, I use it without an amp I just plug the headphones straight into the Zoom G2.

MIM SSS is my 1st pref guitar, followed by the MIM Fat Strat, if i dont find the LoneStar at the nearby guitar dealer.

Anyway, How's the LoneStar? Specifically, how are the Texas Pickups? Have heard a lot of mixed reviews!

I'm looking for a crystal clear clean tone,. And yes, the single coil Strat pups provide that. The question is, can the texas Specials provide that?

**The Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates HB at the neck is exciting**

Love your avatar, and your introduction ErenJaeger.

Looks like you’ve made some fine choices there.

I believe choice of pickups is a personal thing. Most of the audience doesn’t relate like the musician does.

I like single coils and there are a lot to like. For the moment I am using single coil N3s which have their up and down side, but for recording they’re great IMHO. I’ve tweaked them with software and have been able to replicate some of the sixties and 70s sounds. I like that the singles can cover most every genre. I would use them for live performance, but I might choose differently for that.

I’m only into humbuckers if the combo humbuckers and singles or just humbuckers have a good match in volume and performance. Some combinations are not a good fit IMHO, but there are times where that doesn’t matter if preferred and this is perfectly fine for impact and effect.

Texas Specials can they play clean?

Enjoy the Forums, ErenJaeger.

Thanks for the affirmations on the guitars, guys!
I'm totally sold on the guitar, but the amplifier is posing a big question :/
Shortlisted the following amps-
1. Boss Katana 50 (within budget, amazing tones, but the 50W is too much for a small room)
2. Boss Katana Mini (seems more like a toy amp)
3. Blackstar ID Core 10/20W (within budget, wattage is perfect, but it has received very mixed reviews- some really good, some real bad)
4. Yamaha THR-10 ( perfect in terms of tone and size, out of budget)
5. Ibanez TSA5 ( perfect in terms of tone and size, availability issues, plus tube amp maintenance hassles)
6. Fender Champion 20W

I'm looking for a clean tone, distortion doesnt hold much value for me. Want the amp to utilise the Strat completely.
