Hi everyone. I thought that this is the best place to start. I have been playing guitar since I was about 14, I am now 59! I know that I haven't progressed very much in all that time. As 2 marriages, 3 children, yachting, cars, business and life in general got in the way....
I have recently re-kindled my interest in the Bass Guitar. When I was 16 I bought a JB copy by a company called Avon. It wasn't bad, but after a year I sold it for an Arbiter Les Paul copy which I still have in like new condition. We used to go to the Fender Soundhouse in London, and hanker after the "real" guitars. I also worked at Orange music in Bexleyheath. As I am now older, I find that I can afford some of the guitars that I couldn't back then. So I have recently bought 4 x Jazz basses and 2 x Stratocasters. My thinking was to sell the ones that I don't want make a little money and keep the ones that I do want.

I am sure that I will have a lot of questions. Not the least some on the Fender Japan number! Which it seems is quite hard to make sense of!

You've come to the right place.
Welcome!

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I just reread your post. Lemme see. 59 - that's 5 and 9 and that adds up to 14! Ya got a lot of guitar playing left in you. :P
