Hi everyone. I'm Neil and new to this forum so I hope I don't drop any clangers! I play mainly bass and have 16 of them (I think!) including lots of lovely Fenders. See you all around.

You'll find lots of bass players here, Neil; but, I bet you already knew that. Looking forward to your participation and, perhaps, pictures of those guitars?

Have a great time here.

PS. Good luck with the calendar hunt. Cool idea.

Hi Neil, welcome aboard. It sounds like you've got the bug with all those guitars. :D

Thanks, Steve. Yes, I guess "bug" is right. It was never meant to be a collection but I play left-handed and so grab a tasty leftie whenever I get the chance (and have the finances!). Including six-strings I used to have about 35 axes but I have 'down-sized' and as I keep explaining to my partner, they are now all slightly different (mostly basses, they are four-string, five-string wire-wound, tape-wound, headless, semi-acoustic, violin, ...)! She's a drummer but, poor thing, she's had to let her kit go as it just takes up too much room.

I go back a LONG way and my very first professional bass (I did make a few quite nice ones at the start) was a Burns Black Bison. Oh how I wish I'd hung onto it! But then I had an early J-bass and never looked back!

All the very best,

Neil

Welcome!!

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
