I own a YJM strat and a Boutique strat of another brand. I just recently sold my MIM strat.

Today, i ordered my first custom shop telecaster. It is a blue 1961 custom tele. I'm thrilled and will post pics shortly after. Also ordered a blues junior tweed amp. Can't wait!

Sounds like you've got some goodies on their way to you soon.
Don't forget to post pics when all that stuff arrives because we just love photos of guitars and stuff like that.

Welcome to the forum.

Glad to have you here, Open Lane. It's always good to have another join us here in the Forum, especially when they love to give their gear a good home. Welcome.

Thanks for the warm welcome fellas. Will post some pics when it arrives.

Ha, i've been teasing around on FB the past couple days, about how while all of my friends are at a stage in their lives where they're revealing baby genders, i will be revealing the gender/style of my new guitar (strat or tele instead of boy or girl) on fb on Friday.

:) my parents surprised me by ordering me a shirt with a telecaster on it. I plan to wear it for the reveal on friday :)

Thanks again for the warm welcome here, guys. I plan to visit here frequently!

When i post pics and thoughts about my evaluation, what area of the forum is best?

I was thinking of making one post in the telecaster area of the forum and then posting links to it in the related forums (custom shop etc)

I don't want to clutter up the forum or step out of bounds since i'm new here.

Does the above sound acceptable or should i just pick a single area of the forum and just leave one post there?

I can't say if there is any hard and fast rule. If it fits the topic at hand or adds to the conversation I'd say to include it with the posts provided. Sometimes, the posts in the topic deviate or develop into something else, and sometimes they turn a corner in the wrong direction. I'm no less guilty of taking that road, but the posts usually return to where the topic is.

You are right to post in relative Forums though, and once again the topic will give you some direction. and if you think it would be of help or interest in one or several Forums, I'd take that road. I wouldn't necessarily throw the topic around so much, however. It might get boring if it was over exposed. At times it is more convenient for others to search or follow a specific related interest Forum (if that makes any sense). It's pretty straightforward. :P
On the other hand, the Lounge is more of a laid back conversation piece and gathering while there are the other Fender Forums more geared to specific concentration of this or that.

Others may chime in differently. Either way, I think you can't go wrong as you mentioned especially if it relates.

Thanks. for asking, Open Lane.
Now sit back in the Lounge to chew some fat.
Cheers!

One post in the appropriate area will be sufficient. More than that constitutes gloating.

Welcome to the forum.
