So last year I turned 40 and decided it was time to learn to play guitar. I picked up a cheapo epiphone and never got anything sounding like music out. Then I switched to lefty and things started to click. Ever since then I've been watching the local Craigslist and eBay for lefty deals and now I've got 14 different lefties. It's a silly addiction but when you get something awesome for 1/10th new, it's so hard not to buy it. So, new player, love Fender, learning new things daily, and over 40.

14 lefties? :shock: That just seems to be the right thing to do. :D
Good to have you here, Ryandalling.

Ryandalling;

You may be just learning, but at only 40, you don't qualify as an "OLD GUY".

I'm just learning too, but turned 65 last November..........however, I feel like I'm only 40 on my worst days and am truly enjoying my LH Stratocaster.

The thing I really like about playing left-handed is the fact that all our lessons, YouTube, private or otherwise from RH players are all mirror images and very easy to relate to........don't have to think too much about where your right hand goes........just look in the "mirror".
