Hi I'm 60 and had a brain injury (stroke) 2 yrs ago. Couldn't speak or read or write for a long time afterwards, had long rehab and feels grateful to be alive. I had to stop work and thought, after 6 mths, if I could find a generous guitar teacher. I worked for a long time in music industry but never learned to play instrument. I learned on acoustic, then bought a Epiphone Custom Pro and Mustang 11. I just want to tell you that learning guitar is one of the very best experience the best in my life since I had the stroke. I have neuroplasticity teacher (it took me 6 mths to say that word!), a good therapist and a good guitar teacher. I love reading these forums. If there's anyone with a disability who is thinking about learning guitar, or just to talk about it, I'm the man (person) who can give advice after learn guitar after stroke. It's a long road, and a hard road, but a great road. That's it, thanx Geoff

You are a good man to make those offers to others, gwinn62.
I know how difficult it can be to accomplish your recovery, and sharing your story is appreciated. Enjoy your stay here.
