I've been a musician for as long as I can remember. We had a Thomas Californian organ in our house when I was very young and it came with some song books to help you learn how to use the foot pedals, which I used to teach myself how to play until I was old enough for formal piano lessons. Fast forward to my senior year of high school when I picked up my first guitar from the local pawn shop to see if it would stick. Well it stuck! So after a few years I upgraded to my first brand new ax, a 1995 MIM Stratocaster (silver label) black with white pick guard. Classic rock influences were all around me, especially Floyd/Hendrix/Zeppelin so naturally I learned by mimicking them. My piano background helped a lot and I am completely self taught on guitar. Unfortunately I didn't pay too much attention to technique and forced my average size hands to play like Hendrix (thumb over top), didn't rest enough when I should have, and now after 24 years of playing I have raging tendonitis from the ends of my fingers all the way up to my neck on my left side. But it doesn't stop me from playing several hours a week! I have since sold that first Strat, as well as a Gibson Les Paul Studio that was just too heavy for my bad shoulder. My current workhorses are a '72 Tele Deluxe reissue in Tangerine Flake (great replacement for the Les Paul) and a 2014 MIM Stratocaster white on white with maple fret board. I currently play through a Fender Stage 160 (non DSP). I want to fill in some knowledge gaps regarding gear, recording, and how to troubleshoot technical issues. Looking forward to chatting!

My current setup: '72 Tele Deluxe reissue > Korg tuner > Joyo Dyna Comp > EHX Soul Food > Joyo Vintage Overdrive > MXR Prime Distortion > Joyo AC Tone > MXR Phase 90 > MXR Carbon Copy > TC Ditto Looper > Fender Stage 160.

Welcome to the forum.

Have you tried cortisone injections? They often provide transitory relief.

Welcome to the Forum Axplayer. Cool introduction. I hope your tendonitis gets better. There are many guitar and amp guru's here that love questions photos and video's. Enjoy.

Welcome to the group Axplayer. I'm sure you'll find plenty to like here and you will add to the Forum nicely. One thing about your physical ailments is that I find, within reason, playing can often be great therapy. All the best with your great gear.
