Hi, I've just joined and I want to learn.
I have a red Stratocaster made in USA, Serial no. EE103153 that my wife bought for me in 1999.
Can anyone help me find details for this, I would like to know date of build if possible and, what to look for (without stripping it down) to determine what the model description is most likely to be.
If any previous owner is out there, I'd really like to know it's history. :?

Hi, thanks for the welcome and info.
I have had a mooch round the forum & related sites and as far as I can ascertain I have a 1987/88 American Standard Stratocaster, built in Corona for the export market.
It was the last big present my wife bought for me before she died so it is rather precious to me.
I collected it from a UK music shop and had it set up by a local luthier, it played like a dream from the outset and continues to do so and, it has overtaken my 1962 Burns for preferred playing!
As I said if there is any more information on it's history, I would love to learn of it.
Rock & Roll - or should it be at my age (almost 72) Rest & Recreation?
Dave.

Rock and Roll forever. I'm catching up to you, and I intend to go out the same as Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Keith Richards, and the lot. I can always play a ballad or waltz.
Nice to have those memories and connection with your wife, Dave. I'm sure she would be pleased with your quest to learn more about your guitar. Thanks, for keeping us up to date on your discoveries.

Best
