I have a Fender Buddy Guy - USA 22 fret neck SZ0023711 it was sold to me as a B.G. Artist Series guitar. I removed the neck because I was skeptical about the pickups and pickguard. The body was Dated - Nov. 97. My current opinion is the neck was bolted on a different body. Any chance this could be a legit B.G. guitar?

New member and first time on a forum, I couldn’t figure out how to upload pictures. Obviously, I still haven’t figured out how to add photos. smh

Thanks for the welcoming!

First you need to upload your pics to the internet. From a great forum member ; Jmattis

Use a pic hosting site (imgur, imgbb, flickr or such - avoid photobucket) or some common web framework like e.g. facebook, googlephotos - whatever you're familiar with.

The important thing is that the web site provides you with a pic address - that's the one starting with 'http' and ending in '.jpg'.

Copy the pic address, and use the IMG-command (visible when you write a message) on the forum.

Preview your post so everything is OK.

While your authenticity may be found here, you also have the resource of Fender support that may be of help.

Ok, so I found the answer and it is a PHONY! The guitar consist of a 2000 U.S.A Buddy Guy neck, bolted on to a 1997 Korean Pro Tone Squier. Glad I checked into this when I noticed it did not have the lace sensor pickups and original pickguard.
Now I need to figure out how to ace this Fender forum!
I will provide pictures when I add a host for them.

Thanks for the welcoming.

Thanks, for your followup, MMX. Bummer about your Squier’s authenticity, and your photos would definitely be of interest.

The Korean connection is full of mysteries with their builds, their travel to destinations where collective and personal mods are done, third party involvement and questionable documentation. Perhaps, you got lucky since some of those axes are crappy, and others are appreciated. I hope yours is the latter.

Cheers!
