As an unabashed fan of Johnny Marr I am looking to recreate his rig for home use. From everything I've seen live he uses a Deluxe on top of a Super Reverb, but a quick look at the tech specs of these amps shows different impedance levels (8 & 2 ohms respectively). I, sadly, don't really understand the electrical principles behind impedance levels but I was told that mismatching is bad for the amps. So how does Johnny do it? Below is a link to a YouTube video where at certain points you can see the rig clearly, is it possible that Johnny is using the Deluxe's cab ext. output and plugging it directly into the front of the Super Reverb? If not, how do you think he's using both amps simultaneously? Thanks in advances for your responses.

Only guessing here, but looking at the video both amps have microphones. So he may play both simultaneously to get a distinct (fat) sound, or use different amps for different songs (guessing the latter; that way you don't have to jiggle the amp settings).
Thus, the guitar signal would be divided to both amps (e.g. with an ABY pedal), but the amps would remain separate.

On multiampsystems in general, here's some light reading: MultiAmpRigs101
