I'm looking for ideas, suggestions, resources, etc for a setup I would like try similar to the youtube videos in the links below. The first one is my primary goal. The second one is just a great idea and probably not an easy diy project since a midi is involved.

Now before you ask why don't I just buy what's in the video, that's a total outlay of $600 plus and I'm cheap. :D

My ultimate goal is to be able to switch between my deluxe reverb and mesa boogie (A/B/Y) and have the ability to add or remove my pedals in and out of the signal chain.

So is anyone else doing this? How are you doing it? Is there more cost effective way? Like building my own? I would need a schematic, if that's the case.

Thanks guys

I use a Radial Big Shot A/B/Y to switch between pre-amp channels or (alternatively) to drive two amps either individually or simultaneously. That pedal is the best seventy-five bucks I ever spent.

I use the Radial twin city ABY to do the same. I alternate and/or combine my Marshalll JVM, and Fender 65 DRRI. I agree. it's the BEST hundred and change I've ever spent! I have one signal going to pedalboard, effects before the JVM & in the effects loop of same. Other signal to Maxon Od,then Fender amp. Love it!

Thanks guys I've heard or Radial but never used any of the pedals. I'll look into them.

Do you or anybody else use a bypass looper? I like the idea of completely removing the effects from my signal chain when not used.

I use a vooDoo Lab midi board to control which channel and which mode I want to play through on my Jvm& GCX loop switcher for whichever effects I want in my chain if any. I can preset or have instant access to my effects independently. Check out the website for info! I only have the Maxon Od in my Fender signal. I am using the ABY to toggle between the Jvm and the Fender or both. I'm sure i could put the ABY after the pedalboard and between the two amps if desired allowing to use effects through either amp. I think that's what you're asking.

Yes Jeff that's what I am asking. I'm also curious what other options there are. The voodoo stuff looks nice but pricey. Not sure if there are cheaper alternatives or if it's about average for that type of setup.

I know through research for my unit that there are plenty of options. RJM Music makes excellent gear. check out the mini effect gizmo with a small midi board controller! It's good stuff! If only for a few effects this would be my choice.
