So... I was organizing the storage room the other day, and came across a bin of A/V cables. All from numerous "Home Theater" configurations. Now "HDMI" has eliminated the use of these cables from their original design.
Would these cables work as guitar cables, patch cables, ect.? They all have the "RCA" type connectors, and changing to a 1/4" connector is not beyond my "handyman / homeowner" capabilities.(lol)
FEEDBACK IS ENCOURAGED, please comment.

No and ...yes

These cable are not made for guitar use . Their specs may not match or they could match with guitar use .

There are so many cable quality with different specs you have to try by yourself and listen with yours ears

Stratele52... Thanks for your input. I understand what you are saying, and that pretty much was my thought as well. Just had to get a conformation on that thought. I have several candidates for the experiment. Nothing else, it will be a teaching moment in cabling for the kids.( and for Dad )

Many of those cables could be used for other things like pedal board patches, etc. Or in recording etc. I wouldn't use them for an instrument cable but some of them are not that different in design and composition from the cables used by George L and those are very popular for pedal boards.

In continuing the storage room escapade, a bin had an un-opened package of the type of cables I thought might be of use.
The package states... "Component Video Cable", 12ft. (3.65m) - Shielded 24k gold - plated phono plugs
for connecting video and home theater components.
The o.d. is 1/4", all depends on what's on the inside.
Maybe they work best in shorter lengths, which is what "Brother Dave" was getting at?
Nothing left to do, but to change the connector plugs to see what is to be heard, as "stratele52" stated.
