I have a quick comment updating my last remark regarding interface. When it comes to interfacing with a computer the main issue is latency. latency is the delay you get when trying to process the sound while you're monitoring it via software. When you start to work with a recording program for overdub you will find high latency intolerable. As I mentioned I used audacity for a while but even at its best the latency was over 45 ms, way to much. You can record for one track monitored through your amp, however if you try to overdub, the difference between the note you play and the original track will make it almost impossible. The program I use now is Mixcraft 7 Pro ( about $150) I have my latency down to 7 ms at most, very low for most users. I haven't found a free program that could get this low. However there are many factors, sound card speed, processor speed, interface, etc. I'm using a Digitech 360XP with a high speed usb connection but I'm sure the Mustangs interface is just as fast or faster. Whatever program you decide to use, to me, job one is reducing the latency.

I recently bought an American Special Strat, with Texas specials etc...since my old Roland cube 60 from the 80' was stolen I needed a home/practice amp. I decided to try out a few in the store where I got The Strat, tried Mustangs, Champions, tried Peavey etc...with the guitar I was buying.
Now I liked the Mustang, so many settings etc.. But for my needs, living in an apartment, family etc... Champion 20 and 40 really sounded right to me, and the size of Champ 20 was what I needed, it's very able little amp (loud too) and has a headphones output that was important factor. So far I'm satisfied with it and in the market for serious headphones.
If you're moving to a bigger place soon get a better, larger amp, so yeah as most agreed Mustang is what I would go with in your situation.
