I'm new to the electronics of electric guitars. I'm trying to understand the concept of preamp tones with the battery and the s-1 switch option which allows you to bypass the preamp. How does that benefit you to be able to do that. I don't have a $1000 to buy the american strat but I've seen good reviews on the Deluxe Roadhouse that comes with three Texas special pickups and that s-1 switch, which is in my price range. I love blues guitar and hope to be a professional on stage one day. I was also looking at the Deluxe Lonestar but I'm not sure about the humbucking config. Thanks for any comments and suggestions. The S-1 switch is just four single pole, double throw switches. It can be, and is wired to do different things depending on the guitar it is installed. Just like a single toggle switch can be wired to do different things, so can the S-1. You will need to check the specs on each model to find out what it does. In the end it is just switch that is attached to a pot, what is does depends on creativity of the person wiring it. When it is paired with a 5 position super switch, the possibilities are expanded.

In a professional situation, sorry to say so,
you are ages away of it, nobody cares for your
considerations, and I mean nobody

The theme is music, somebody's may be willing to pay for it

It is about time to think about professionalism.

How to get a job as a guitar player and more important,
stay in business for a lifetime.

Pay the rent, feed the family,
these are the more important facts of a musicians life.

"And it's a hard way,
to the top,
if u wanna rock'n roll"

I do not know what this switch does,
information requested

I own a Tele with 2 HB and a 5-point switch.
In position 2 the outer coils in are parallel,
in position 4 the the inner ones

Both positions sound fine, think Mark Knopfler.

Additionally, I have a switch which rotates a PU up to 180 degrees.
Think Albert Lee.

I have it, but does it make me a better player ?
