It's the one thing I cannot find any info at all on. It measures about 6" x 5" and is black and gold.

It says in small letters "model RM11" near the top and PE1 Junior near the bottom. Progressive Electronics Mesa Arizona.

Stomp box looking, Has 2 switches... ON/OFF and the other says FAST/SLOW.

Looks pretty aged. May be an old tremolo. My dad had it in the basement. Just trying to find out what exactly it is and the year made. Two prong plug.

There was a Progressive Electronics in Mesa but the name changed to Tempo-Mesa when the company was bought by Bell-Textron some thirteen years ago. They manufacture testing and diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting telephone systems. It's likely that what you have is unrelated to a piece of musical gear.

Thanks for the reply. I've looked for months and finally found it. Of all times after I posted it here.

The problem was that it's not PE 1 ..... It's PEi

It's a pedal. Someone posted that it turns any steel or guitar into a B3. Whatever a B3 is.

Thanks again.

A B3 in common musical parlance is a Hammond organ.

Plug it in and see what happens.

Wow, a steel guitar into a Hammond Organ. Quite a transformation... Not sure about that one lol but my dad was very into the blues so anythings possible I guess. I'll have to try it out and let you know how it goes.

Anyone know any popular groups that used this pedal and what song or songs they used it with? Anyone have any videos of this in use?

4 years later I finally hooked it up and it definitely works and is a pedal. From what I can tell it's quite rare. It has a switch for fast & slow speed. Pei junior model RM11.... Really cool sound.

I've heard of a PE175 and an RM250.
I've also heard of a PE250 and an RM125.
There have been other models as well; too many to list, in fact.
Each and every one of them were MIJ/CIJ.
I know the RM models were available in the 60s but I don't think the PEs came out until the mid to late 70s.

Hope that helps.

PS - An RM11 seems like it would be an incredibly small model and not at all likely to have ever existed.
I don't even want to think about how small a PE1 would have to be.
I know for certain that one never existed.
Unless the 1 was like a clever codename for a 100 or something.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
