So, I recently changed the strings on my electric guitar to a little thicker gauge (.11-.48) and then I noticed that I was getting a lot of fret buzz on the lower frets (but not the first and second), especially the bass strings. Basically, from everything I've been able to read, I need to loosen my truss rod. There is a problem here, though, because I can loosen it all I want, and nothing happens to the neck. I think this may have something to do with a lack of use for two years, but the problem remains: How do I get the neck to bend forward?
The easiest suggestion I've heard is to tune it really tightly and let it sit for a while. The question I have is how long, and is that really a good idea?
Also, I noticed a bit of what seems to be buzz coming from my bridge, but none of the screws are lose—those sound different. Not sure what to do about that. It's not always there, and I'm hoping it'll go away if I can get the neck fixed. I also noticed a horrible ringing sound with the D string on a down strum. It oddly doesn't seem to show up when I strum up, but I also played through the other strings and it seems to be there to a lesser extent, anyway. I'm mostly just worried about the neck problem, because the other things don't affect my playing nearly as badly.

Wich guitar :?: :?: :?: It is a must to know

Stratocaster ;
Bigger strings gauge ( or smaller string gauge) need a tremolo spring adjustments and a truss rod adjustment.
Complete tune-up will fix it :D

If you remove all strings in same time, neck truss rod may push the neck too straight ( with no string on )

Wait and keep guitar in tune .

Better to ask on the properly guitar forum ; Stratocaster , Telecaster ....Experts are there . Not in General discussion

Oh, sorry. It's a Squier Stratocaster of some sort. Kind of different. It has a classic/standard bridge. No tremolo.

Well, as I said, it's kind of a different stratocaster. It has the body shape of a strat, but doesn't have the tremolo. I haven't been able to ever find another one like it. It has this bridge: http://www.fender.com/store/bridge-assemblies-components/6-saddle-hardtail-classicstandard-series-bridge-assembly-chrome/
It also only has two knobs. One for choosing the pickup, and another for the volume. That about sums up the entire guitar.

from your link:

"Hardtail bridge assembly used on Classic and Pawn Shop Series (Mexico) instruments."

Perhaps it's a Classic or Pawn Shop Series instrument?

Does it look something like this? (pawn shop)

I guess a little searching can go a long way. I think this is the guitar http://www.overstock.com/Gifts-Flowers/Fender-Squier-51-2-color-Sunburst-Guitar/2216357/product.html
No idea if that even qualifies as a stratocaster.

Ok I understand now , "cause hard tail is not the " standard " bridge for Strat and it is not a Stratocaster you talking about .

Nice guitar this Pawn Shop :)

Glad you could help me figure out what kind of guitar this is. :) I've never really known enough to care.
