Hello Everyone, I just inherited a Fender Princeton amp, in tweed. From what I seen online I believe mine is a 1949-50-1951 model? The tube chart has deteriorated and no longer shows the serial number, I do not see any numbers on the pots. My question for the experts is how I can find the exact year of my amp, is there a way to tell without the tube chart and pot numbers? Your help is appreciated!

If the amp retains any of its original Mallory or Aluminite electrolytic caps, those will each be date-coded.

Way out of my depth here. Are there no numbers on the transformers? Transformers not original?

Hey guys! Well it has the orange caps I see in the old amps that are original, so I am assuming they are originals. I saw a guy on YouTube dating his amp with the 3 small black colored numbers located on the orange caps on the last row of the texts. On these it says “525” ..

I believe there are two transformers and the only one I can see with numbers is a black box, with a Triad logo, and a serial directly below that, it reads “6500”..... there is a smaller silver box sitting right next to it but I don’t see any numbers on it...

Could be that those caps were manufactured in the 25th week of 1955.

If so, that gives you a starting datum point that you might narrow down via additional discoveries.
