Hey guys,

let's play this jazzy chord progression:

Am7 (5x555x)
Bm7 (7x777x)
E7#9
Amaj7 (5x665x)

I'm somehow unhappy with the passing note/chord between E7#9 and Amaj7 - I either strum the G, B and high E very lightly or somewhat slide into Amaj7. Sounds OK I feel(...) that there might be a hidden chord somewhere out there. But as a typical beginner I'm unable to find it.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

If it were me I'd lose the Amaj7 altogether and replace it with a Cmaj7.

E - X
A - 3
D - 5
G - 4
B - 5
E - 3

I'd also play all the strings on the Am7 and Bm7

E - 5 / E - 7
A - 7 / A - 9
D - 5 / D - 7
G - 5 / G - 7
B - 5 / B - 7
E - 5 / E - 7

That's me.
Your mileage may vary.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
