I got my strat literally 2 hours ago and I’m not sure about something.
I have my trem bar in and when it’s facing away from the pickguard it’s nearly touching the body, is this normal????
Is it because I don’t have a spring in the socket or is the socket bent ????
Thankyou :)

Could be lack of a spring, or it could be that it is not properly set up.
The rear edge of the bridge should be 1/8" above the body when tuned to pitch.
A lot of people crank the trem springs down and "deck" the bridge.

You will also probably notice that you can't spin the trem bar around when the cable is plugged in ;)
