Hey Trooper,

1. find an online Mentronome like this one for example. You can use a computer, phone, or tablet.

2. Run a cable from the "headphone out" of the computer, phone, or tablet where the online metronome is loaded to the AUX of the Fender Mustang Amp.

You will need a stereo mini to stereo mini cable (3.5mm), as seen below:

3. Turn on the metronome and enjoy the rich satisfying clicking sound you desire!

anytime! yeah that was a cool accidental find. It was the first one I clicked on in the Google Search.

This is where your modeling amp really shines BTW. Doing something like this is not so easy with your average vintage tube amp!

I use a Wittner metronome. It comes with a tiny earplug with a thin cable that easily goes under the headphones.
But most of the time, I just set it to blink instead of sound.
The German made Wittners (thus excluding their low priced ones) are possibly the most reliable and accurate metronomes you can get. They've been making metronomes since 1895.

But you can of course run both the amp output and the metrophone input into a mixer. Or use a miniature mixer that has a metronome function built-in, like the Tascam Portastudio ones.

A metronome is more for the advanced player and can soon become quite boring.
Why,
simply you just do not understand all the information your brain is trying to absorb... Think ALF
Smaller bites make digestion less painful

Try a drum groove available free in various styles and
formats on the web or backup files of your fav tunes.

Also, metronomes come free on the web, try to run 2 of them
simultaneously in different meters, this will get you closer to
your goal of having fun and gaining progress.

Always concentrate on the offbeat:
1, AND, 2, (AND, 3, (AND, 4, AND))
You will realise mucho progress in a matter of days
