Well, since PDawg is so lonely;

I did spend some time with my X2 the last few days, getting to know the vibratone effect. I learned two things:

a) this effect I like- a lot! Esp the slow speed.

b) I love the way my new 60's Jazzmaster sounds through it. I think they were made for each other.

c) okay- I lied, there were three things. I need to dig out my Boss Noise Suppressor. With the volume and gain both on 5, my Jazzmaster hums like a bastard. (WHY do I have to like single coils so much??)

I love the supersonic voicing on this amp, but boy does it hum with single coils and gain. Digi preamp or no, this amp responds very well to riding the volume knob on the guitar.

Playing a lot with my new Joyo JTA05 Sweet Baby. Cheap clone of late tweed Champ but really nice sounding. Nice clean compatible at a volume level compatible with apartment, dirty not too loud but not for the evening. Take pedals very well.
I was using the Champ tweed on the SXCD2 before but this little Baby is so much easier to hide in my living room staying plug but invisible and so having a better woman acceptance level
And be honest if the SXCD sim is close of the real, this one is the real one.

Same for me. The fx selector just go from it to reverb from time to time. Slow speed with low level give to your sound something captivating. A little like a uni vibe. Use it for slow blues mainly and low gain. Really vintage.

Not too hum for me with my Strats. I set gain 1 between 2 and 3 (depending of which Strat), gain 2 (via fuse) around 2,5. On the bridge pickup a modern lead voice, on the neck more retro lead tone lightly fusy. And with the volume knob on guitar, going to rhythm crunch and slighly dirt clean (perfect on pos 4 for some Hendrick). For the true clean, canal 1. It sound pretty good when you can push the SCX2 at 4 mini. For a dirty sound at quiet apartment level (vol on 2 max 3), I have a voice set as green box + princeton. When you switch from canal 1 to canal 2, it's nearly like turning on a tube screamer .
What is great with this amp is the possibility to adapt it to your taste and environment by just turning a knob.

I've tried the Super Sonic voice, because several people have said they like it. All I can ever get out of it is way too much gain with way too much distortion. I can't get it anywhere close to sounding good. I'm using an Epiphone with humbuckers, dialed down.

And thanks for the chatter, it was getting lonely around here.

Even with single coil the gain know have to be low (3 max for me). Did you tried to lower gain 2 too only accessible by Fuse software?
My total gain on that sim don't exceed 5

I tried the Super Sonic tonight with both gains set at the 1 to 2 level. Still a bit of distortion, and sounded like I was playing through a cardboard tube. Raised the volume towards 5 and same thing, just louder. I tried switching the speaker emulation to a 4x12 (G, I think), sounded a little better but still bad. Guess I just won't use that one.

Enjoyed a Marshall voice tonight. Then some clean channel 1 for a while. Love this amp. It's so easy to get such a variety of sounds. If Fender made their whole Champion line like the X2 front-end, Fuse connected and all, with the SS power output stage, they'd have one winning line of amps. That and the Mustang line just about covers it.

I tried something else tonight that I just hadn't around to trying. I connected to Garage Band (Apple user here) with USB and headphones to monitor the guitar input. Turned the amp volume on the X2 off and it all works through the headphones. The USB volume is independent of the amp's volume setting. It's a "fairly" easy way to use this amp with headphones. Not as easy as just plugging the phones into a SS amp, but it works. And you still have tubes tubes when you want them.

Sold my X2 some months ago. I replaced it with an Egnater Tweaker 15 head. Now the Tweaker head in front of my EVM12 L 1-12 cab with stomps in front is a nice amp set up. However I miss the portability of the X2, and I am sorry I sold it truthfully, although the tone I get from the Tweaker rivals the tone I get from my Hot Rod Deluxe/Cannabis Rex. The X2 was a real nice grab and go amp. Guitar in one hand and amp in the other.

The 15 watt Tweaker is a bunch louder than my X2 was. My X2 was not even as loud as the Epiphone Valve Jr 5 watt Head I had at the same time. The Tweaker is loud enough to play in a band situation with a loud drummer, the X2 would not have done that. The Tweaker is Deluxe Reverb loud. My X2 was not, but it was a real nice amp to take on the road for daily practice, light and small. Easy to carry in and out while traveling.
