Hi all. I just purchased a Super Champ X2. I've had a G-DEC since they first came out and a couple of years back bought the G-DEC 3-30 and the 4 button foot switch that goes with it.

My question is- will this switch work with my Super Champ X2 also or do I need to go buy a 2 button footswitch for it?
I just received the amp last night and already love it but will be going through the forums to check out what mods others have done because I already miss a couple of features off of the G-DEC 3 like the Aux in and the Line out.
I also loved having the SDRAM chips to use with the 3 but wasn't ever satisfied fully with the sound. What I missing was tubes! I had tried using tube pre-amps but it just never sounded as good as a full tube amp to me.

Thanks for any replies. I've not had the time to really do any research on my own yet.

Why don't you just try it, if you have them both sitting around?

Not all switches work on the same principles and I don't want to damage my new amp. I thought it was worth asking about first.

No one has answered you yet. Strange. I don't know the answer either. I found your question by googling the question myself. It seems like it wouldn't work. But like you I don't want to blow something up testing it. It seems like the support team would have the answer. I guess we will never know.

Wise choice.

Thanks for your inquiry. The Super Champ X2™ will not work with the Mustang™ 2 or 4 button foot controller. I tested it here in the Technology Support Lab and confirmed that it will only work with the channel select/effects on-off pedal listed here:

http://www.fender.com/parts/footswitches/2-button-footswitch%3A-channel-select-effects-on-off/0071359000.html#start=1

Feel free to contact us at the TSL with any additional questions at tsl@fender.com
