Hi Tonemstr,

Thanks for your post. Unfortunately, we don't have that spec. available. But if you are looking for a replacement speaker for your amp, you will want to get a speaker that is rated for at least 30 watts and operates at 8 ohms. Please let us know if we can assist further.

Best Regards,

Alan

Interesting that this speaker is made by Eminence for Fender, yet Fender doesn't know the specs for the production! Gauging from your response, it's safe to say the SCX2 speaker is 30W at 8 ohms. As Neil Young says, "innerestin'....

Hi Tonemstr,

I hear where you are coming from. I apologize that I don't have more information here. Typically, Consumers inquiring about the specs. on speakers are looking to upgrade or change out the current speaker. And the information that I provided will serve that purpose. It is also likely close to the spec. of the stock speaker. I just don't have that exact information in my hands. Please let us know if we can assist further.

Best Regards,

Alan

Stock speaker sounds fine (if you like paper cones) at low to moderate levels. Otherwise it is a POS. Eminence makes good money putting marginal stock speakers in Fender amps and then getting sales for new speakers because the stock one is not up to the job if one is making serious music. As good as the good Emi's are, Weber makes them sound like the mass produced product they are.

You could probably get the wattage specs from Emi. They are very customer friendly, unlike some corporations.

Hi Guys,

Once again, we are happy to assist and offer any information that we have. As I has stated in a previous post here, I simply do not have specific information on this exact speaker. With this said, Consumers who are requesting specifications such as these are typically looking to change the speaker. To that end, I provided information that was provided to me by one of our engineers in this thread. I can say that the speaker in this amp was chosen specifically for this amp.

And Tonemstr, if we can assist further in any way, please let us know. I am still unclear as to whether you are simply interested in specs. or wanting to change the speaker, etc. Thanks.

Best Regards,

Alan

Well, the truth is, I've been a Weber dealer for years and for me, they make the best speakers, hands down. Key words being "for me". So, with that in mind I sell the stock speakers out of Fender amps I buy because I also agree with Modwiz. Emis are ok and I realize Fender has to hold a certain price point in order to make the product affordable for folks that don't do anything to their amps after purchase. So, I was interested in the specs for the speaker for the sake of truth in resale/advertising. My amps will always have Weber's in them, hence the resale. I also replace tubes with matched JAN 6V6s, bias them up (as I find most Fender amps stock are biased cold), and use a 5751 in the preamp. Lastly, a Merc Mag output tranxfmr for a Princeton Reverb in place of the Taiwan tranny. Those 3 areas, with proper biasing, and the SCX2 is a lil' tone monster! Thanks Tech Support for your responses. And thanks for weighing in, Modwiz!
