my SCx2 is only a few months old and just recently started having this strange issue. Things start out fine but after a few minutes, mid-level white noise starts coming out of the amp. If I turn the FX knob to a different setting, it goes away but eventually comes back. Is this a known issue?

I tried loading the 1.2 fimware from the FUSE app but this didn't fix the problem.

Any idea what to do? Do I have something bad going on with the digital board?

Please help, if I need an RMA can someone tell what to do?

Thanks,
-Mike Ziemba

Hi Mike,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having some troubles with your amp. From your description, I would say that you may want get the it to an authorized service center to get checked out. If you purchased the amp new form an authorized Fender® dealer in North America, please see the link included below to locate a service center nearest to you. If you are outside of North America, please contact the music retailer where you purchased the amp, and they should be able to assist you. And please let us know if we can assist further from our end.

Best Regards,

Alan

thanks for the reply Fender TSL.

I forgot to mention I use the amp for both harmonica and guitar and the problem seems to happen when using a SM57 with impedenence matching transformer to mic the harmonica.

So I took the amp to my local shop and showed them the problem. They contacted Fender who said they will not honor the warranty on this issue since the problem occurs when using the amp for harmonica.

I'm sorely dissapointed in Fender's response here. I know lots of other people use Vibrochamps and similar models for harmonica with no problems with the DSP FX.

Can you guys maybe reconsider my case or at least speculate as to what the problem is? It's a shame to not to have any of the nice FX available to me on the amp I paid for.

Respectfully,
Mike Ziemba

Hi mikeziemba,

I am sorry that things have not gone the way you had hoped here. Can you please email me directly with your name, amp serial number, the name of the service center you contacted and the specific person you worked with there? Then I will be happy to check into it. Also, have you ruled out the impedance matching transformer as a possible issue?

Anyway, please get in touch with me via email. Then I will check things out and see if there is anything I can do from our end. Thanks.

Best Regards,

Alan

I'm sorry you had this problem. I too had the issue and called Fender and they were unable to provide any assistance. BUT: I solved the problem on my Super Champ X2 and I believe you have the same issue so if it is not yet resolved, look at my Forum post on this and you can see how to fix it. I describe it in detail, but the short answer is that there is a defect in the 65 Spring Reverb model which is the default on the amp for the Spring and Spring/Delay patches. If you change it with the FUSE program to another reverb (like the 63 Spring or a plate or whatever else) the problem should go away. Anyway, please see my post for all the details. (In case the link doesn't work, the post is titled: "Loud White Noise on New Super Champ X2")
