I just got it yesterday and have had some time with it. I like it but, it is still very stiff so it has not revealed itself yet. Tomorrow I will have an mp3 player hooked up to it when I am not playing during the day. I will share more, including a clip when I can in the days ahead.

I might mention that I ordered a Weber cabinet as well that the speaker came in, although the speaker was not for the cab. The cab is a unique design called Maggie. It has a 10'' and an 8'' speaker. I have been trying different variations. The Lil Buddy and a Weber sig 8S sound very nice together. Tomorrow will start with my alnico Red Fang and Weber sig 8S. I will then substitute the Weber for an Emi 820h speaker. I'll take pics and start a thread for the cab in the lounge in a day or two.

I still like the Lil buddy for the SCX2, it does not have that Fender sparkle, but it makes up for that in smoothness. It is just my practice amp, but it also records nicely with a SM57 in front, so it will serve double duty.

The lil buddy is a very well balanced speaker to my ears and misses nothing, except alnico mojo. It will take a fine 10" alnico hemp speaker to match it, IMO. I was fortunate to buy my LB used on Amazon, it was well broken in and sounded great from day one. My new Weber is going to need some thumpin' to unlock its sonic secrets. It has plenty of alnico mojo though.

Regarding the fender sparkle I want to experiment with a british voiced chimey speaker with a hemp cone to see what that sounds like. Speakers may become a new hobby. I always allow some cash for my hobbies. My red fang is very chimey with full bottom, I just want the brittle papery sound gone from it. So, after the new year I may buy a new 10" speaker with a Vox tone chime and a hemp cone. Weber, of course. The only speaker company that lets one craft a unique speaker. The downside is investment to investigate. If I can get the camera aspect figured out, I;ll start making little vids with my various speakers, since a good mix is growing.

I also want to capture the various tonal combinations that result with my Maggie cab, using different 8" and 10" configurations. If band rehearsal allows me time. We just started so there is a lot of work to do.

Thanks for the gear gab, DBM.

My Lil Buddy took a long time to settle in truthfully. So did the C-Rex in my HRD, but once broken in they are my all time favorite speakers. Especially when you get the volume up a bit.....

So, the Weber 10A150H is sounding positively magic in the amp. My Maggie cab has the Emi Red Fang alnico and the Emi 820H ceramic. The cab sounds great. With my HRD and C.Rex is was really good. It had the 12", 10" and 8" speakers are singing with a different voice as one. From the depth of the 12" to the honk of the 8" (subdued because it is only 96 db) with the 10" rich with complementary tones, it was a chorus of sound.

With the SCX2, I am working with two alnico 10"s and the 8" hemp ceramic. Good airiness, punch and plenty of tight low end.

I would say, I am very happy with my Weber speaker and cab.

I ordered a Mojotone lite extension cab for the C.Rex to live in after the Blue Dog arrives. The C.Rex will be the likely extension cab for the SCX2. The 12" really adds lush bottom end. Maggie will be a floozy and play around.
