This will be my third swap out. First in was an Emi Red Fang alnico speaker. Loved it except it was paper cone with a British voicing. Second was Emi's Lil Buddy. I could live with this speaker but miss the alnico quality. SO, I ordered a Weber 10A150H speaker. A 10" hemp alnico speaker from the wizards at Weber. Got it rated for 50 watts since I like a lot of headroom. No dope either, hemp does not need it as it has no "ghost cry".

Since I am setting up some recording ability and the speaker will be at least 10 days getting here, (Weber has cut the waiting time roughly in half), I may be able to give a sound sample with the oral report. This will be my first custom built speaker from them. I like the way their signature 8s performs. Look forward to them putting out more of their designs with a hemp cone option. They are already offering it on their British voiced 12" speakers.

It goes without saying that I really like this little amp. It has lots of personality for the playing situations I find myself in most of the time. Noodling around by myself and/or a drummer in our rehearsal space.

More when it gets here.

Cool how much for the Weber?

I think of my SCX2 as a practice amp only, so I will not be putting any more money into it. For that purpose it is adequate. I would also do a small room with it, but it is nowhere as toneful as my HRD which is still a grab and go amp (good thing I work out at the gym 3x weekly.)

New spkr for an SCX2? Weber, all the way. I'm partial to the 10F150 50W 8 ohm. Ya just can't beat it!
