Fender XD - 12" Utah Alnico speaker (set on preset 14, gain at 4)
Shure SM57 Microphone
Fender Jaguar Blacktop

Recorded on Audacity

Thinking an X2 may not be necessary... the Shure SM57 works pretty well.

I bought a Super Champ X2 FSR and received it yesterday. Looking forward to playing it just as soon as the preamp tube they forgot to install gets to me. LOL. Yup, brand new amp shipped with an empty socket for the 12ax7. Fender rep is baffled. But no worries, plugged headphones into line out and was able to play it last night to test everything else.
The FSR is wine red with tan grill. Looks pretty cool. It also has a Celestion G10 Speaker upgrade.
Will post again once I actually hear it, LOL.

Wine Red is very nice. I have the Surf Green. Just got a Mojotone 12" cab extension for my SCX2. It is surf green and I put my C.Rex in it. I think a Weber Blue Bell ceramic with hemp cone might sound more like what I am looking for. Eminence is not cutting it for me so well anymore.

I am sure you will enjoy your SCX2 when you get your tube. It is a fine little modeling amp with some tubey goodness. Right sized cab for an open backed 10" speaker too.

I am sure I will. Played one in GC and other than a kid shredding a Jackson 10 feet from me, I liked it. I think. LOL.
