Hi guys
I now own a superchamp x2 and I am familiar with fuse and recording
With USB in a DAW as I have owned a mustang III V1 in the past and recorded with the mustang and the guitar audio sounded quite good, but
When I record with the x2 using same DAW as with the mustang it doesn't sound good, it sounds like raspy I'm sure when I recorded with the mustang
It sounded way better.
I know about USB gain in the advanced menu and like I have said it sounds raspy when played back but great through the amp as I am playing it.
Is there something I am missing here?
Thanks in advance.

Hi realstreet,

Thanks for your post. That is not something that we have heard prior. We will check this out here, and follow up with you. In the meantime, since you sound like a knowledgeable audio person, perhaps you have a dedicated external interface? If so, you may also have good luck recording the amp through either the Line out or micing it.

Best Regards,

Direct recording has never worked for me, I quit trying long before I ever bought my Super Champ X2, but it mikes up beautifully, and outshines any modeling device I ever tried, and I have had 4 or 5 of them over the years for recording. I just stick a cheapo Sure SM57 in front of the speaker rim about an inch from the grill cloth and record it directly into my sound card, that is the way I recommend if you have a decent sound card interface.

Hi realstreet,

I apologize for the delay in following up with you. I have had a chance to perform a couple of test recordings with a Fender® Mustang™ and a Fender Super Champ™ X2 side by side. The results for me were a clean, quality 16 bit recording for each amp using Ableton Live as the DAW in this case.

What I might suggest is that you double check your amp settings, and make sure that you are comparing "apples to apples" so to speak as closely as possible. The two amps are different, and thus perhaps the recordings that you made varied somewhat. That is just a thought. Anyway, please let me know if I can assist further.

Best Regards,

Alan
