When I first received my X2 I loved the clean channel - sharp, rich at any volume, with no distortion. Now with any guitar - hum buckers or single coils, at any volume over three on the amp (guitar volume at 5) the sound is distorted, particularly on chords. One of the things I liked about the X2 was that when strumming every note was crystal clear -- now its distorted and muddy.

The 2nd channel is fine on the simulations, although some of the clean simulations have similar problems with distortion.

Is this a tube problem? Is there something else I should/can check? Thanks.

Hi syd2aussie,

We wanted to follow up here and see if you were able to get the situation with your amp resolved? Hopefully, all worked out well. However, please feel free to contact us directly if you do need any assistance with the amp or are still having an issue with it at this point.

Best Regards,

Alan

Sounds to me like it could be a bias issue. Do you know how to check the bias setting for those 6V6s? If not, take it to an authorized tech, especially if she's still under warranty.
