That is a possible source, pdawg. The only thing I would say is make sure he is referring to a Super Champ XD or X2. Maybe some of the other guys can verify this, but wasn't there an earlier issue Super Champ, before the hybrid XD/X2? Chassis size might be different, if so.

I have an Xd, there is no speaker out, not to say you couldn't put one in. Of course this is fine if you stay at home. If you take it to small gigs, now you have two pieces to carry. Unless you have roadies... also known as drummers.

Does the X2 have speaker out?

Yes it does, the internal speaker plugs into it. The X2 also comes as a head only, if you so desire. Never knew the XD doesn't have this-guess that was a part of the upgrade to the newer x2, eh.

Works in our favor- we can try the amp with as many different speakers (and sizes and combos) as we like w/o voiding the warranty. Just plug it into any cab with the right ohm rating.

Jeez- doesn't your poor drummer have enough stuff to lug around without being your roadie, too? LOL!

There was an XD head as well.
Before I made the cab swap I made a speaker patch cord with male spades on one end and a 1/4" jack on the other, which allowed me to try other speakers. That was the driving force in the upgrade. The actual speaker changes have been evolutionary.

I just searched the bay and Rawcabs is what the cab's are called I was looking into. They're unfinished so you carpet them or tolex them yourself. Reviews seem good. Now somebody needs to buy 1 and do the swap and let me know if it's worth it.

This is the cabinet I would buy for a 12" speaker. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fender-Super-Champ-XD-/380170434918?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5883ec7966

DaidRemy --- yep...
As I said earlier, I'm pretty sure that's where mine came from.
