All right - so I'm fairly new at this and I seem to be having trouble finding documentation. As I understand it, I can plug my SCx2 into my iMac via a USB cable and record into GarageBand... Is that correct?

Does GB automagically pick up the amp as an input device? And I assume I can either a) use the amp's clean then GB effects or b) amp effects with GB clean?

Is there an advantage doing the above approach as compared to a dedicated input device like a PreSonus, Apogee Duet2, Tascam, or M-Audio device? I would probably go guitar-->SCx2-->audio input --> iMac in that case (I prefer the amp settings to GB's settings).

Thanks for answers as well as any additional suggestions!

I have an X2 but, I do not know the first thing about garage band. I have found if you have the amp connected to the puter before opening software it helps the program identify possible inputs based of what it finds starting up. I like recording the line out into a recording interface. The x2 has a great line out sound. Sounds like the speaker output to me without any speaker 'hair'.

Hi Damongarn,

We wanted to check in with you and see if you had narrowed down your input path and configuration with your amp and your iMac? hopefully, all is going well either way. Please let us know if we can assist in any way from our end.

Best Regards,

Alan
