Not quite the same, I use my SCX2 through FM 65R if in need for more power. Looks and sounds great!
FM 65R has a Power In jack that fits perfectly with Line Out from SCX2.

The line out of the SCX2 is a great way to use other power set-ups. The line out gives a very true signal of the sound you dial in.

I tried an experiment last night with the lil buddy equipped X2. I used speaker wire to connect a weber signature 8" alnico in parallel with the hemp speaker. The anico chime with the full spectrum of the hemp was a tone I must have. And will. Lowering the ohmage to 4 in a low draw mode was no big risk to me. I will upgrade to a 4 ohm tap OT for a permanent set-up.

Tried my old alnico red fang with the C Rex in my HRdeluxe and the results were acoustically, and aesthetically, similar. Very yummy.

Now I have to build a cab for the red fang. The HRD is all set up and ready for an extension speaker. :D

I like the next size smaller speaker in alnico paired with the next size up hemp cone.
If you can, experiment with this. My 8 inch weber alnico has almost zero bass response but , some of the sweetest high mids and trebs. The hemp has very sweet everything but does the high mids and trebs differently. The blend really works well, IMO.

Well Modwiz, now I gotta haul in my EVM 12L in 1-12 cab (I have 2 of those) to demo that again using the SCX2 to a-b it with the Lil Buddy. If I was to play out with a full band, I would use the 2-EVM12L's and disconnect the Tonespotter in my HRD.

I should mention that my red fang is a 10" speaker. It sounds almost like a toy when a/b'ed with the C Rex. In combination it is sort of like a tweeter for the C Rex. I wouldn't trade my hemps for paper speakers, but the papery shimmer, especially with the alnico chime, mixed into the sonic richness of hemp is just about my idea of perfect sound reproduction for a six string guitar.

Yep the two hemp cones, one alnico, the other ceramic, really gives a nice tone. I hardly ever play with just the stock speaker anymore!
