Recently my x2 simply quit. The jewel light was on, faint hum in the speaker, tubes glowing, all cords in tact. I tied a few things but nothing. I went back to my store. They sent it to the Fender approved repair shop. Diagnosis...bad tubes. I purchased new tubes and nothing. I tested the originals and they tested good. Then...it started playing again. All was well for several weeks but last night at a gig it quit. I turned it of and on three times and it began again. Anyone else out there have this difficulty. It makes me nervous.

Possibly a bad power supply? being an intermittent problem could be any number of things. If it's still under warranty just take it back, see if they'll exchange it.

Would the amp still have power if it were the power supply? The tubes glow, the jewel light is on. I do not know that much about these things. I am already out 30 when the so called fender repair said Otis was tubes but not true.

The thing has a five year warranty, why did you pay for the tubes?

Tubes are not covered but I did get money back on the tubes. I lost 30 on the bum diagnosis

Tough to say, when it quits working does the light go out? Or do you just have no sound? It could be any number of things, a bad connection, a bad component etc. I'd take it back and ask for an exchange on a new one.

I would use DeOxite on the tube sockets.
