At what point in volume level does the SCX2 clean channel break up a little? I live in an environment where I can't turn it up very much.

We're talking 8+ here, and then it really only gets warm.

Good, if you want a loud clean for a rehearsal or gig. Not so good, if you want natural drive at less than wall shaking volume.

* I've only cranked it up like this with a single coil guitar. I have not tried it with my LP-alike to see what it will do with Gibbo style humbuckers or a P90.

My LP will break it up at about 7, but it is freaking loud at that point. Some of the 2 channel choices break up at more reasonable volumes, lol.

Thanks that is what I figured. I might just have to add a pre input pedal to imitate some breakup, not much, just a touch.......

You can get some very nice "just a touch" sounds on channel 2, using the Bassman ( voice 4), or the Tweed Deluxe dirty/compressed. ( voice 3). The Brit 60's sounds darn tasty with just the right amount of gain, too.

Thanks for your reply.

I use the clean channel for cleans, and I use 13 for overdrives, I never touch the model selector unless I do that by mistake. I bought this amp for a grab and go amp, one pedal, the channel switcher.

I need cleans and overdrives with a little touch of reverb on both. If I wanted a bunch of pedals, I would have bought the Blues Jr with the Cannabis Rex and put a pedal board in front of it. So I guess I will have to lighten my touch a bunch on the clean side.

I don't use a bunch of effects any more. I once did but I got bored with all of them truthfully. Cleans with verb and overdrives with verb that is all I use these days.

I still like my pedals. Mainly chorus and delay. Mostly with cleans- I just love a bit of chorus with my clean. I just tried out a cool tip for rockabilly delay I learned in a video.

For drive sounds, I'm mainly with you: just a bit of 'verb to keep it from sounding too dry. I'm a low/med gain guy, and love my classic rock and blues. Since I can't crank my amp either, due to thin walls, I normally use an OCD or Blues Driver. I like to play in the single notes clean(ish), chords dirty range.

While I'd prefer to get my dirt from cranking my amp ( or the Classic 30 I'm now GASsing HARD for), I want to keep my place to live more, lol.
