So I'm researching info on the SC X2 because I like the concept of versatility

and I find this on this page
http://www.fender.com/support/articles/ ... ender-fuse
When operated in stand-alone mode, it will function as a 2 channel amp with channel one voiced for a Fender® Balckface™ clean tone. Channel two has a selectable voice knob with 16 selectable voicings listed in the owner's manual.
What exactly is a Balckface ?!?!?
hahahahahaha -ROFLMAO !!!
Sorry- I aint the grammar police, but Fender should spell their own product names correctly, right? Or No ?!
Move along there's nothing to see here

Spell check didn't work for them apparently.

I own the amp and like it.......a lot. Especially the clean first channel, BALCKFACE. Channel two is a pisser with lot of great sounds. The effects work well. I like the vibraphone. Set right is is a great phasey/chorusy sound but much clearer.

With all the text language mangling going on, I am happy to see all the letters of a word present.

I learned to play a vibraphone at 11 years old.
It was my first experience with chords.
4 sticks

My drum teacher kept throwing my drumsticks out the window

Anyway it sounds like the consensus is to buy this thing
If it works well live and in the studio, ....then

OMG. I did say vibraphone. The effect I was speaking of is a Leslie type of effect. It's called a Vibratone. I really like the slower setting. For the money the SCX2 is quite a lot of amp, IMO. Purists sneer, but owners smile.

No worries ModWiz

Can I ask do you use your amp both live and in the studio?
I listened to your reverbnation clips and it does sound pretty darned good!
THanks

I have not had a chance to use it in a club. With my drummer in a studio yes. It more than holds its own. I don't even think I had it past 6.

At Reverbnation two clips are made using the Scx2. Flying with Faerie is just my Tele in Channel one using the line out to record. I thought I was just capturing an idea and ended up coming out with a song. I kept the original raw recording. Are You Listening has me using two different amps, one of them is the SCX2. I have is set on a a 70's British setting with some vibratone. I am recording it into a built in mic of a tascam DP-004. The Other track is my Bugera V5. I am using a LP Studio for the guitar in both cases. A third track just for the lead is the SCX2.

I had another song up that I took down that I recorded with the line out of the SCX2. I had some singing that I thought sucked on the recording so I yanked it. I really love the line out feature of the SCX2, it is clean and sounds like what you hear from the speaker. I have also used it to get the sound I like, usually with the leslie-ish vibratone, and then run the line out into my Bugera. I get more presence, and variation on a theme with the SCX2 providing the overall tone of things.

THanks for the detail - much appreciated

I'd like the combo if it had a 12.
Might have to go with the head and cab option, but would prefer a combo
like the VHT
You can swap tubes in that one and its mod friendly

THanks a Million
