When I started out I had trouble getting Audacity to record my Super Champ X2 via the USB port. With advice from other posters I figured it out. Now I see other people having the same problem so I will explain how I solved it (for Windows 7 or similar).

1. Install Audacity. Leave it closed for now.
2. Connect your SCX2 via USB to your PC and turn amp on.
3. In Windows, go to “Control Panel”, then “Hardware and Sound”, then “Manage Audio Devices”
4. Click on the “Recording” tab at the top of the mini window.
5. Right click within the mini window and make sure that both “Show disabled devices” and “Show Disconnected Devices” are checked. If your SCX2 was not previously visible in the list of devices, it should be now.
6. Right click on your SCX2 icon in the devices list. If you see an option “Set as Default Device” then click on that. A wee green circle with a check mark by your SCX2 icon indicates it is now the default recording device (if you use other recording devices in future, you can “enable” multiple devices using steps above; Audacity should recognize all enable devices as input device options, including your speaker output channels, useful for recording software-based drum machines for eg).
7. Open Audacity
8. At top right of Audacity window, find the “Input Device” drop down menu (probably second one from the right, below the redo/undo buttons). Open that drop down menu – you should see your SCX2 as one of the options (mine is associated with “Internal AUX jack”). Click on that to select.
9. Right click on the input level meter (probably at top, just left of center), and click on “start monitoring”.
10. Play a few notes and adjust the input volume to suitable level (look for slider by the microphone icon).
11. Click the record button and you should be recording. Further adjust input level if needed (I find that I have input level jacked up all the way, but right level may be different for you).
12. When done recording in Audacity, go to “file” then click on “export” – export your recording as a wav file, and presto – you recorded your jam.

These steps won’t help people with device driver issues, but majority of Windows users should not have any problem. I think a lot of the problems people are having come from not “enabling” their SCX2 as a recording device, as in steps 3-6.

Note that the USB connection outputs the pre-amp output signal, so your amp’s master volume does not affect the signal through the USB port (you do get all your modeling and effects through USB, of course). If you want tonal coloring from the Master volume, use the line out jack into some kind of PC recording interface, then into Audacity. Or better yet, just get a Tascam or similar and mic your cab. Good luck!

Looks good, Brad. I'll just add that if you are using emulated output you can adjust the output level from your amp using Fuse. Click on Advanced Amp, and you will see a knob that says USB Gain. Turning it adjusts the output level.

Thanks for the tips, Audacity didn't see the amp until I enabled the amp as described.
