spoke with fender customer service this week and hopefully found a way to resolve this problem.

i just wanted to say that while i have had some qc issues with this amp
(not with the tone...that i totally love) every time i.ve contacted fender they have really
impressed me with their customer service and willingness to make things right. that goes a long way in my book especially when we.re not dealing here wth high end expensive equiptment. just wanted to let you know.

Hi, sorry to say the same thing has happened to me - the USB port broke off and fell into the insides of the amp. Having read this post over a year ago, I have been very gentle with the USB, but it's clearly extremely fragile. How fixable is this problem? Fender, what do you recommend? I would like a permanent solution if possible. (I bought this amp in Jan 2013). Please help!

Hi Brad Craig,

If the USB component fell out of its installed position during normal use and you purchased new from an authorized Fender® dealer, I would suggest that you contact an authorized Fender Service Center and get the amp in to be checked out. Please check the link below to locate a service center nearest to you. If you are outside of North America, you would want to contact the regional Fender distributor in your region. Please let us know if we can assist further.

Best Regards,

Alan

I took my SCX2 head to the authorized Fender electronics repair shop today. Looks like the warranty will probably cover the repair. I will post again when it's fixed or if I have any issues with warranty or repairs.

On afternoon of Nov 4 the repair shop, Stratton Electronics in Missoula, MT, called to say the USB input jack could not be found inside the amp. How it fell out is a mystery since the hole is only just big enough to fit the jack (we all know the difficulty of reclaiming a pick dropped into a sound hole). They let me take the amp home until a new jack part arrived, which took a week. Yesterday morning I took the amp back to the shop, and this afternoon it was fixed and ready to be picked up. The entire repair was covered by warranty. I am satisfied with both the Fender warranty and Stratton Electronics' service (good thing too, because the next authorized repair shop is many hundreds of miles away). What I am not sure of is how likely this problem is to occur again. If it happens again, I will be on you guys for a more permanent fix. But for now, all is good so thanks!
