I ordered the XD/X2 footswitch online in late December 2012. They keep pushing the shipping date back - now saying it won't ship until late February 2013. I anticipate further delays. Checked around online and it's out of stock everywhere. Apparently there's some in UK and a few on eBay. I saw posts from Asia claiming they flat out refuse to ship any over there.

Does anyone have any info about the footswitch shortage? Does anyone know of another footswtich which will work with the SCX2? Is it dangerous to the amp to try plugging other footswitches in and see if they work? Welcome any advice.

Sweetwater is saying they have confirmed with Fender that more are on the way. I got mine there in mid November. Sweetwater is reliable. The best online retailer, service-wise.

Happy to say my footswitch shipped today, a month earlier than expected... so I guess the "shortage" is over.

Thanks to those who posted advice on locating one.

BTW, when looking for alternative footswitches, I found this website, this guy makes custom footswitches for all kinds of amps including Super Champ.

The URL is http://voodoomanswitches.com

I got my footswitch yesterday and glad to say it works properly with the SCX2. Will have to put some rubber feet on it or something, though, it slides all over the place. Well, guess that about wraps up this gripping thread. So long, it's been real.

Ok, I seem to be suffering from an inability to use my search engine. I was killing some time the other day and while browsing I found a company, I believe they were in Europe, that was making a 4-button foot switch for the XD. I was going to contact them to see if the switch would work on the X2, but have lost the link and now I cannot seem to find the company again.

I should mention that this was a boutique operation, not a mass produced unit like from Fender.

Anyone else see that, I am sure I was not hallucinating, well I don't think I was.......

Ok guess I was semi awake, it is a YouTube video ( actually three of them )

for a 5 Button MOD for the XD. I have to look into this further, although I will not be modding my X2 anytime soon, darn I was thinking this was a "plug and play" thing!
