I really like the Super Champ X2.

I didn't like it when I first used it because the factory settings in FUSE are terrible.

The Middle frequency knob, only available with a computer and Fuse software, is set all the way up on the Clean channel and it sounds awful.

When you use Fuse and turn the Mid down it sounds great.

The Mids are also set poorly for most of the channel 2 voices. Everything is honky and boxey sounding.

When the mids are fixed this amp shines.

Also the reverb is set WAY high. All the effects sound better when tweaked.

I write this because so many people think the Xd model was better than the X2. I find that these people never hook it up to a PC.

Out of the box the XD sounds better, but when you fix the settings on your computer with Fuse the Superchamp X@ sounds as good and has more sounds and features.

So if you are considering this amp, hook it up to your PC to tr

Geezzzz.
I had an X2 night to night a practice.
The lead guitarist brought in an X2 and off he went on
LedZeppelin Cream Bloomfield Creedence.
The sounds are incredible.
I'm blown away.
Never thought a Champ could sound this way.
10" speaker if I am not mistaken.
Toppscore :)

In addition to tweaking with FUSE, check to make sure the board that the speaker is mounted to is secure to the rest of the cabinet. I put some screws in the gap where it joins the box and it made a huge difference.

SL is right.. definitely got to move that Mid setting off the 8 mark it is set at in the software. Changed it to 4-5 and it's a sweet sound. Also most of the clean sounding amps need the mid setting adjusted. What a great amplifier!

Let me jump into an old X2 thread and say amen. I have always enjoyed my Mustang 1 and Bronco. This Champ X-2 is another kind of joy.

My speaker is secure, Tribrach.
