Just heard about this little beauty today. I have 2 Mustang I amps. I love 'em. Have considered getting another (can never have too many amps - one for each room). Am thinking now about getting a SC X2. Can u tell me, what are the amp models and the effects?

The Fender website doesn't say specifically what amp models are included. I love the Mustangs 65 Deluxe Reverb that is found in Fuse. Can I download this to the SC X2?

Also, is reverb one of the effects? They claim 15 but only list 3 or 4.

In addition to the tubes, there are a lot of features I like about this new amp. Especially that there is a 1/4" speaker out - which I would like to see in the Mustang.

Our local Fender dealer doesn't have the amp yet, so I can't just roll in and try one. So, I would appreciate it if someone could compare this to the Mustang for me.

Does Fuse work the same way? I love Fuse. Can I use my mustang Fuse presets in the SC X2?

Thanks

The Deluxe on the X2 is great. The Clean channel does Blackface Fender excellently.

Channel one has that sparkly, twangy, spank that only comes from Fender. It takes pedals very well.

I believe I read that you can use the Mustang presets with the X2.

Check out the PDF of the X2 manual for the amps the superchamp models.

To me the x2 is better than the mustang because it has that warm tube tone, but it also has all the flexibility and modeling of the mustang.

As I mentioned in my 1st post, the Mid tone control needs tweaked in FUSE before you can really judge how the X2 sounds.

Thanks for the help Snow Leopard. Much appreciated. The sounds you described are exactly what I'm after.

I think I will spring for the X2 rather than a Mustang II or III. I do enjoy my Mustangs, but with two of them already, I think it would be great to have the tube sounds as part of my sound palette for recording. It's affordable too.

Thanks Tribrach. Glad to see they included my favorite, the 65 Deluxe Reverb in the stock presets. Had to use Fuse to add it to my Mustangs.

Enjoyed the video, too. Great idea to show Fuse on the screen!

Really the same great models as the mustang but with a little something extra from the tubes. I'm likin' this amp.

Thanks Doc!

If you think the presets have life, wait until you get them tweaked with FUSE.

Yah, I love tweaking with FUSE.

Thought you might enjoy this Tribrach. It's pretty much my main go-to preset on my Mustang. If you give it a try, let me know what you think. I'm curious how it sounds on the SCX2.

It gave me a warning about importing it into the SCX2 and that it might sound different, then it proceeded to error out with the error below. However, I was able to import it into the M floor and is sound really good. But what isn't to love? Deluxe with reverb and delay. I like how you drop the gain all the way down and push the volume. That is how I like it! It stays fairly clean but knocks off all the harsh edges.

I really like to play with the Bias and Sag to take the effect a little further and tweak the attack for what I'm playing.

I wonder when Fender will take the Mustang to the rest of the vintage modified series. How cool would a Deluxe be with FUSE! I just hope they don't flatten out the bolt on logo like they did on the SCX2.

I'm with you, I would love a Deluxe with the full blown Mustang/Fuse thing!

Thanks for trying that preset. I was curious to see how importable my Mustang presets would be into SCX2. I guess I would have to recreate them if I add the X2 to my closet of amps. Oh, well - it will be fun :D

I haven't yet experimented with the Bias and Sag. I must give that a try. Thanks for the tip!

On the VirboChampXS I find I am usually running my gain at between 4 and 6, depending on how must attack I want on the strings. Although I'm really into clean sound, I figure if you got a tube, you best use it! Cause as pristine as Solid State is, there's nothin' like tube 'ambiance'.

Take care.

Playing with the bias and sag is like switching out tubes for free without the risk of messing anything up.
