I was wondering if anyone has tried this combination and what they thought. I am going to buy the X2 Head, but unsure of what cab/speakers to get. I know it needs to be 8 ohms. I was also looking at a 412 Marshall cab as well. Any thoughts?

More speaker cabinet than amp. Amp is overmatched.
Anyway, I jammed with a buddy who brought
the new Super Champ X2 15w 1x10 combo.

Totally freaking outstanding.
Nailed Classic Blues Rock from the 1960s-1990s.
I was very impressed. The X2 is on my list to aquire.

We mic'd the amp though our PA, and was awesome.

I suppose a 15watter can put sounds through the marshall.
Not sure of your speaker configuration.

In the Fender world ususally a 4x10 is driven by 40w-70w combo amps,
and even much stronger amp heads.

A 4x12, IMHO, would love 100w-200w amps to get those speakers moving.
A Marshall 4x12 being driven by a Champ is an interesting quest to seek.

Go to a store and tell'em you want a Marshall 4x12 and want to test it with your amp?
Then, you will know. BTW, do you have any other larger more powerful amp heads?

Toppscore :)

My local Guitar Center has two used Marshall MG 4x12 cabinets for cheap. I almost bought one to try out since they are 8 ohms.

I doubt it will be louder than the combo since they are higher wattage speakers. However, it will probably be fuller.

I can tell you from experience that the SC sounds good through additional speakers and can handle two 8 ohm speakers in parallel. At least for a short time, it worked good and I didn't have any trouble.

A 4x12 cab would definitely look cool and would probably let you turn up the amp a little more.
