All,

I recently received a new Super Champ X2. I like the amp, but have noticed an issue with some of the voicings. When I select most of them, the volume level seems to be relatively consistent. When I select a few of them, though, the volume level is considerably low compared to the others, so I generally have to crank up the volume substantially to be able to hear them. It's kind of annoying, and I wonder if there is a defect with the amp. Has anyone else run across this issue with this amp? I have yet to really use the FUSE software. Is there something I need to adjust in the voicing settings in FUSE to make all of the voicing volume levels consistent? Also, some of the voicings don't really sound that distorted when I crank up the gain with them. I'd hate to have to go through the trouble of returning the amp, so if I'm missing something, please let me know. Thanks!

That seems to be the case that not all the amp models have the same volumes from the factory. I believe there is a master volume control in fuse but I'd have to verify that. As for the gain issue it all depends on what amp model you are using. If you turn the gain up all the way on the twin reverb model it only overdrives a little bit cuz thats what a twin does. Those amps are famous for not breaking up easily. Use the high gain amp models for high gain sounds. Or drop an overdrive pedal in front of it. Its interesting being the first group of users on a brand new amp. It's up to us to work out alot of this stuff since there is no one who came before. Cheers!!

andygutmonkey,

Thanks for your reply. I admit that I don't really know the characteristics of the amp models that well. I guess I just need to get better acquainted with the amp. I downloaded the FUSE software recently and messed around with it briefly, but admit that I need to dig a little deeper with it.

It is important to remember that when changing to a voicing, you inherit the volume setting of the voicing no matter what the volume knob is on. When you move the volume it then becomes what you set it to. If the voicing was set to 8 and your volume knob is on 3 the moment you move it, it will reset to three and the converse is true. Some have mentioned the sensitivity, or sudden jumps in volume, (in other threads), this is caused by the aforementioned.

rjames1973- did you find out what the issue is? I recently got a super champ x2 combo and am having the same issue all of a sudden. The volumes for several of the voices are very low and I have to crank it up very high to hear them. I tried an amp reset but it didn't fix the problem. I haven't tried the Fuse software yet.

On some voicing, there is a master volume available in Fuse. All you have to do is:
[*]install Fuse on your pc/mac
[*]connect your SuperChamp by USB on your pc
[*]have fun
