Thanks Drubbing and Modwiz. I guess we all love our Super Champ X2s. I never learned many covers, but with all the tone choices on the SCX2 it inspires me to try learning other tunes by some of my guitar heroes. I think I will try working on some David Gilmour next. Keep on playin'.

Dave Gilmour? This is an XD, but no matter.

Whatever the XD could do, the X2 can also. I notice the Super Champ threads are quiet. I guess we are busy enjoying them instead of asking about the latest breakdowns that seems to plague some of the pure tube amps. A small percentage, of course. :D

I think part of it is it's simply a less popular products than the mainstream Fender offerings. The Mustang has been a huge seller, mostly because prices are low, for a lot of amp. Then there's guys that want a pure tube amp.

The X2 is neither one or the other, but costs as much as a small tube, and far more than a modeller. Here, I'll have to shell out $500 for one, which makes it a tougher proposition next the the competition. Although, despite having a Vox SS which I think is great, I really didn't get on with the VT20, awful shreddy models on it.

I'm going to revisit a Mustang before committing. I didn't like it last time, but I really couldn't play much then, just focussed on the clean, and I much preferred the Vox's.

It's been a while since I posted a SCX2 video but here is one I just made using the JamMan Stereo looper. You guys are putting up some really good videos. I've subscribed to a number of you and check them out as the come across.

For this video, I ran the line out of the amp into one channel of the looper and the drums into the other channel so they could be mixed in GarageBand. I'm using the stock delay set on 7 with a fast tap and channel 1 set to volume 4 and a fairly flat EQ.

The line out has a really fat sound. I've been known to plug the line out into a bass combo amp for a little more bottom end than the stock speaker by itself.

You were right Spacewolf. Was that a SCX2?

Yep, voice 15 for the lead and rhythm tracks.

And thanks for listening.

Good stuff you guys. Tribach, great tone you got there. Liked the trippy noise jam, Spacewolf.

Speaking of polar opposites, here's the SCX2 on a new demo track of mine, recorded a few days ago. - (May be NSFW depending.)

http://youtu.be/u6e03sGaUZk

I used my SCX2 head and SC112 cab for this - main guitar was voice 14, solo was voice 12. Drums and bass were Rhythm Rascal (free-ish on C-Net). Used a cheap Behringer mic and a Tascam 8-track. I am not the best singer so I growl a lot instead. Enjoy.

I don't speak German but I could put together the words to figure out the title of your song BC. It had a wonderful Fascist feel to it. Catchy too.

I have to investigate how one puts up a video without any video. I assume it is rather straightforward.

Mod, I was going for angry, but not fascist. I detest fascists, in fact. Hope this song doesn't suggest promoting of fascism; if so I failed. I wrote it in response to my reaction to a Rolling Stone article about HSBC bank and how evil they are. But there is nothing overtly political about the song, so it could be interpreted any number of ways.

I used Windows Live Movie Maker to make the wav file into a wmv file. It comes free with a lot of PCs - extremely primitive program, but you can at least add audio to your vids or images. WLMM needs a vid or still image to work with - even a blank square as a jpg will do (I just made a title page image). There are quite a few better vid editors for free or almost free on C-Net.

BTW, I checked out your Reverb Nation page - some great tunes on there, especially the MJ song (was that you on guitar?). Is Reverb Nation really free to host all your tunes? Would you recommend using it?

Please do not mind my odd sense of humor. The Fascist thing was me riffing on the strength of the rhythm.

Yes, that was me on guitar. All instruments except drums. I like reverb nation. If you can get someone with a good fan base to fan you, it helps. It also lets you see where local bands are playing gigs. This lets you know where suitable venues are. Playing out is where it is at for me. I am an applause junkie.

Just added a new song recorded with my band in 1988. Rock and Roll Love is the song name.

I will play with making you tubes videos of these songs. Thanks.

Same here. Good playing, good song, and it definitely has the Rammstein vibe, you've got that nailed!

I use Windows Movie Maker, but not Windows Live Movie Maker. I prefer making movies on my hard drive rather than online, but that's just me.

Well, I got one up with just one photo. Since a SCX2 was not used it didn't get posted here.
