On my 1980's 40 watt Crate solid state amp I can run an MP3 player loaded with backing tracks thru the amp and play along over them (or wav. files on the laptop computer). The MP3's volume control adjusted the volume for the backing track and tone is adjustable through the MP3 player as well. The guitar is adjusted as normal - through the amp face controls. Works great, but I wanted a tube amp.

Is there a way to play Band Tracks through my new Fender Super Champ? I can get them to play through the computer they're downloaded on, but they don't play through the amp, or at least I don't know how to do it.

I sort of know that I can use a loop pedal but what if I'm also using other effects like overdrive. Would they color/distort the backing track?

BTW; I love the Fender Fuse software. It's pretty easy to use once you get onto it. And it gives me the ability to evaluate dozens of add-on pieces of equipment without having to go out and buy them.

regards,
Waddie

Hi Waddie,

I moved this post from the Fender FUSE post back here to the Fender SuperChampX2 Forum. Please take a look at my reply to your other post here. And please let me know if I can assist with anything else. Thanks.

I love the fuse software. I just started using it with my SCX2. Starting to get all my mid knob tweeks dialed in. next will be customizing my effects. at first i didnt understand why they left the mid knob off the amp itself but i see now. Dialing in the mid takes some time for each model. adjusting the highs and lows to suit given specific environs is quick and easy imo. makes it alot faster to move between my presets when you already got the mid in the place you want it for each specific model.

Hi andygutmonkey,

It sounds like you are getting things dialed in well. I wanted to be sure that you knew that with the Fender SuperChamp X2 the concept is more editing the Voice and FX settings as as apposed to the 'Preset' per say.

So, you would want to setup your amp modeling, fine tune that and set up your stomp and fine tune that and save that as one of the 16 Voice settings. Then move to the FX and set up/customize your FX chain and save that to one of the 15 FX locations. Then you will have those Voice and FX settings saved to those slots on the amp and be able to recall them with or without Fender FUSE connected. The one other item here is that you will need to dial in your amp channel settings (Volume, Gain, tone) whenever you change the Voice setting as these are live parameters. The Mid tone control as you point out, is programmable. Please let me know if I can assist further.

I was wondering if the orginal subject has been answered. I have just installed FUSE on a Mac OSX and have the X2 connected. I am trying to find out if I can play a band track through the USB connection to the X2... Cant seem to find any info on this.

Thanks.

Hi mspinn,

Thanks for your inquiry. The Fender SuperChamp X2 does not have an Aux input. Therefore, it is not possible to play back Band Tracks (audio files) directly through the amp. You can, of course, play Band Tracks (16bit wav & mp3 files) through the Fender FUSE software on your Mac/PC. Please let us know if we can assist with anything further.

Help - just to be clear. If I use FUSE software, I can download backing tracks to my PC - but can I play them through the SC? I'm considering a Mustang or Super Champ - leaning towards SC, but really like the idea of playing along with backing tracks.

Sorry - but since I've yet to buy the SC or Mustang, I can't really experiment.

Hi bwynes,

Thanks for your inquiry. The Fender® Mustang™ series amps have an Aux input. Therefore, you can connect with the appropriate cable and playback audio through these units. The Fender SuperChamp™X2 does not have an Aux input or other method of inputting audio. So, if that is a primary requirement, you may want to go with the Mustang. Please let us know if we can assist further.

Best Regards,
