I am planning to buy this amp, but I think the manual misses an important part regarding the Fuse generated effects. The questions are important for me to make the decision of buying:
1. How many effects can you store in the amp? (Often you have to switch between a handful or more effects settings during a full set of many songs).
2. How do you change between these effects and activate them on the fly (using the foot switch and/or the front panel)?

Footswitch turn effects on or off. To select the effect to use, you have to use the knob on the front panel.

I. bought the head. I put it beside me and I run a speaker cable to the cab. I can then access the effects by turning the knob and then adjusting if need be. The only added effect I added was phase shifter and I added that in one of the Leslie effect spots. I figured it sounds close enough to Tremolo I didn't need it. For dirt I use one of the amp modules and use the foot switch. Since the foot switch only turns on and off I just leave it on for effects.

There are 15 F/X slots to store effects in on the amp. Each of those F/X slots can be a combination of up to 3 effects, with some limitations (explained in the manual). You pick which slot is active from a dial on the front of the amp. The foot switch can turn the selected F/X on and off.
The stomp box effects (overdrive, fuzz, etc.) are stored as part of the amp voice, not as an F/X. You can store 16 different amp voices, which are a combination of amplifier type, speaker cabinet, stomp box etc. The active amp voice is selected by a dial on the amp. The foot switch will switch between the active amp voice and channel 1. Channel one is a Fender Blackface voice and cannot have a stomp box.
On the Fender website, you can find the manual for the SCX2 amp and the manual for the SCX2 Fuse. Between the two manuals, you should be able to find the answers to most of your questions.

Thank you so much guys for your helpfulness. Watching a bunch of Youtube reviews and your kind comments makes me sure that this amp is the right choice for me. Changing gear is also changing of habbits but I think I can get used to this :) This amp sounds absolutely awesome (as far I can tell playing through my computer speakers... ).
