You cannot. This amp only takes a 8 ohm load. The old fender amps you could mismatch impedence and the amp would handle it. With this amp they only reccomend an 8 ohm load. You could buy the cabinets and load them with 16 ohm speakers which would be cost prohibitive I would think for very little gain. If you want more speakers buy a cabinet that is 8 ohms with the 2 12 speakers in the cabinet already. If you are set on doing this figure roughly 550 to 600 dollars. 400 for the cabs and 150 to 200 for new 16 ohm speakers if not more.

Forgot to add you would then hook the 2 16 ohm cabs up in parallel for an 8 ohm load .

Also these cabs have only one Jack in the back. So you would have to add another Jack and alter at least one of the cabs.
Personally I don't think it is worth it for very little gain.

Wow - ok - Hmmm.... Just thought I could plug in a Y splitter cable at the imput socket at the head the run the two cabinets. Oh well, back to looking at more amps I guess. How does everyone feel about the superchamp head plugged into say a Marshall MX212A slant/???? I believe they're 8 ohms.

That would work fine as long as it is 8 ohms. Don't discount the amp just yet it is a great head. A bargain considering what it can do. I am running a highly efficient Emenince Tonker in a open back cab and it sounds great. Still has good bass response too.

Ok, so, let me get this straight..... I cannot use a Y to run two Fender 8ohm cabs from a Super Champ X2 head, but I can run a cab with two 12" speakers with 8ohm ratings from the Super Champ X2 head, correct????

No you can run a 2X12 cab that has 2 16 ohm speakers in parallel for an 8 ohm load. Or two 4 ohm speakers in series for 8 ohms. Though I never cared for the series set up. I think you need more power to drive them that way. IF you want to do your Y cord thing you will have to buy two 16 ohm speakers and replace them in the Fender cabs. I don't see where you would gain a lot except for looks.

The rear jack says 8 ohms minimum. I run a 16 ohm cab from the SCX2 head and it works perfectly.
